Talia was baptized last Saturday on May 31st. Her best friend's birthday is also in May so they were able to be baptized together. Maysen and Talia were so excited to be baptized together. Maysen's grandma recently served a mission in Hawaii and bought the girls matching white mu mu's to wear for their baptism. They looked beautiful all dressed in white. Several of our family members came for the baptism and we were grateful for their support. Talia's Grandma Eyvon and Maysen's Grandma Genet both gave wonderful talks and there was a special spirit there at the baptism. A couple of Trent's nonmember friends from work came for the baptism and a couple of Talia's and Maysen's nonmember friends came from school. We are so proud of Talia and her decision to be baptized. We love her so much and are thankful to have her in our family. She is a righteous example to her brother and parents.
Our families came for the entire weekend and Trent's parents and oldest sister, Rebecca and her family stayed at Trent's youngest sister's apartment. My parents, my sister Nancy, and sister Betsy and her family stayed at our house. The school carnival was on Friday of that same weekend and everyone came and joined in the fun. Mary Woodward Elementary puts on a big carnival and everyone had a great time. Saturday morning most everyone went to see a replica of Christopher Columbus's ship, the Nina. It was in downtown Portland and everyone said it was interesting. Talia's baptism was at 3:00 in the afternoon and afterwards we had dinner with all our family. It was so fun to have both our families together and we really enjoyed our time together.

It sounded like everyone had a really fun weekend. I'm glad everything went so well. Congratulations to Talia! It's hard to believe she's 8 already!
What a great post - I loved all the pictures. Sounds like a great weekend! Wish we lived closer and could've come!
Talia and her friend look so sweet in their matching dresses. It sounds like it was a very special day. How neat that the girls invited nonmember friends. I love the family picture!
